i think this interesting. i have never seen this. i over tipped in a restaurant

i was at red robin and i have had too many poor servers the last handful of times i have gone out. it really messes up the enjoyment spending money going out. so.... i knew i over tipped this woman. but she was fun. and what is a dollar or two in the scheme of things. also, i use to be a waitress.

well. today i get a message from my credit card. it is thru the credit card red robbin put out the question if i meant what i had written, or did a change need to happen, lol

who does that? kinda cool.

it shows the bill, highlights the tip and then

your tip was over 30% or more, and we hope it was exceptional service, HOWEVER...

that is too cool. anything else i can look forward to? like, hmmmm. did you later regret your purchase, or was it poor product? would you like us to take it off your bill?

anyway, i thought this was fun.

A lot of chain restaurants take a percentage of the tips, actually. Always tip in cash Bucky Aug 2015 #8

It's a way of checking without accusing the server of fraud. Rather artful way in fact because you didn't catch on.

Bank is just trying to ensure nobody is ripping you off

Just like when I started racking up charged driving to Florida a month ago..Made it to Mobile before BoA sent me, yo, you the one using your debit card across the country

Funny thing is I used to get it every year when I go to Phoenix. Didn't happen last year I guess the software is smart enough to look at the past and say, oh, probably him. Your bank knows EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU lol.

i am disgusted what this industry get away with in pay.

And I'm usually a fairly generous tipper as well. What I have noticed in the last few days, though, is that the original (pre-tip) amount of my restaurant bills have been showing up on my statement. Some of those have been from local Mom & Pop's I frequent and I'd be terribly embarrassed if I've screwed up the bill and done them out of their tip. Haven't seen any dirty looks yet.

I don't keep a real close eye on my statement, so I don't know how often this has happened. Maybe they initially charge the original amount and then withdraw that one to submit the one with the tip later? I usually round up to the next factor of 10, so they shouldn't be hard to spot.
