If Obama had issued an order to rename the highest peak in North America after Ronald Reagan...?

...the Republicans would be commending him for his decision.

The truth of the matter is that it was re-named after a worthless Republican President from the state of Ohio. McKinley had done nothing to be rewarded such a high honor. He never discovered the mountain. He never climbed the mountain. He never even visited the mountain. But he was a Republican and Republicans like to re-name stuff, after Ronald Reagan when possible.

In my most humble opinion, there has not been a Republican President worth a damn, except for Dwight D. Eisenhower, since as far back as anyone can remember.

But that's just my opinion.

care less about having a mountain named after McKinley, especially a mountain at the far end of the country. Ohio wants to name things after McKinley, they can start renaming things in Ohio.

would probably not go back to Lincoln. However, Lincoln was from Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois and he was a different type of Republican, also. If he were alive today, he might feel more comfortable in the Democratic Party, in my opinion.

was not the craziest thing that could have happened.

Everyone in Alaska has been calling it "Denali" for a long, long time, though. Not something to get upset over.

but the name wasn't formally recognized by the US government until 1917 when Wilson made it a national park.

...who isn't a paid operative. This is a bunk 'outrage' that doesn't exist (or doesn't exist in Central Indiana, take your pick).

This is just more intentionally divisive stuff. The story, not the post, obviously.

To us here in Alaska, Denali it was and Denali it will always be. This was a wonderful decision.
