Has the KY Democratic Party expelled Kim Davis?

Heard that she was elected as a "democrat" to her position, and then I heard that she was in Kentucky, so...go figure...but can't the State Democratic Party eject her from the Party?

For those who would say, "well, we'll never win Kentucky again if we do that", I say...IT'S "EFFING" KENTUCKY!!!!

She's a festering sore on the ass of the KY Democratic Party and she needs to be removed.

1. People here on DU crab if KY candidates affect views they regard as insufficiently liberal.

They don't understand that the candidates have to dance with the ones whut brung them. KY isn't deep blue, not by a long shot.

Big tent, and all. Some Democrats ARE conservative, and KY has more than their share.

Though I do think we could probably do with opening the tent flap and booting that particular jerk out. I think she'd be happier under the GOP Big Top.

Some wanting secession or some such crap. Then wonder why Democrats can't get anywhere.

I'm about ready for New England and some mid-atlantic states and New York to go our way from the rest of the country.

not liking a particular Democratic candidate because they only agree with 75% of the party's policy positions, and understanding that having someone that agrees with you 75% of the time is infinitely better than having a right-wing whack-job

and

someone violating the law in the name of bigotry and hatred.

I'm in Virginia, and would take a million Warner's over "smilin' George "Machacha" Allen any "effing" time...if however, Warner were violating the law, he would need to go.

The only thing the party could do is to withdraw support next election. But that's a decision of the local party apparatus, the DNC isn't going to concern itself with local officials.

I thought that she could be expelled from the Party and required to not call herself a "democrat", or she could still continue to do that, but the local party could disown her.

I know the national party is different, and that there are forms of censure, or punishment (such as being removed from committee positions, etc), I thought there would be something similar at the local level.

Has the Democratic Party of Kentucky even put our a statement condemning her actions?

12. If she is a member of a local Democratic Executive Committee, they can expel her from that, and they

can pass a resolution condemning her, but that's it.

The local DEC's are supposed to have a grievance committee (I was a member of the Grievance committee in Pinellas County Florida for a time) and that committee has the power to meet, investigate, deliberate and ultimately, kick people out of the DEC and kick them out of offices such as Precinct leader, district leader, and other leadership roles in the DEC itself.

In 2014, Kim Davis won a contested primary for the Democratic nomination for County Clerk. (As a side note, it was close, 1,819 to 1,794, with a third candidate getting 322 votes. I wonder if some of those 322 are wishing they'd voted against Davis to spare the County all this agita.)

I don't think party leaders should be able to block people they don't like from registering as Democrats, in a state that has partisan registration. I don't think party leaders should be able to block Democrats they don't like from running for office.
