I believe Trump has placed an ad regarding a new wife. He's looking for a "Laura Bush" type just in case hell freezes over and he becomes president.

(34,111 posts)but had to go locate the goats so I could watch the match so I missed that! Darn.
Go Venus! I think I am almost alone on this one.

(34,111 posts)From the first times I saw them play I just loved Venus. I don't hate Serena but I just adore Venus.

(23,664 posts)I admire Serena for her work ethic, her athletic skills and her competitive spirit. I'm turned off by her bullying of referees, ball boys and girls and the many other volunteers associated with the sport. It seems that her temper tantrums are always directed toward people who are not in a position to fight back.
MuseRider
(34,111 posts)She is a champion but those parts of Serena bother me. There are a lot of people like that, I don't care for them much either.
Still, way before I noticed any of that I was in for Venus. I liked her game.

(21,849 posts)Now that is a phrase I doubt that I will come across again in my lifetime.
Btw, did you find your goats?
MuseRider
(34,111 posts)Once in a while they will go where they usually won't go without me. I walked about a quarter mile and found them and they ran right back. Little stinkers. It is a very frequent phrase in my house. Gotta love the goats!

(3,580 posts)We have lots of loose goats so the man just painted x's on his goats with livestock marker so we'd know who to call.
One of my old nanny goats would invite herself over to the neighbors, she was a very gentle gregarious goat. She died a few years ago, I miss her every day.

(34,111 posts)about your nanny. They do become part of your heart and family. Ours are like our dogs and cats. My guys are getting old, the time is coming and I can hardly bear to think about it.

(3,580 posts)There's always one that is the favorite even when you love them all. I got little LeeAnn from a neighbor. She was going to market because after years of producing kids, she got gangrene of her mammary glands so she was useless to them. I took her and thought I can't let this sweet girl go to the auction so I took her home thinking I'd have the vet out and put her down. The vet agreed to do a double mastectomy and my husband and I nursed her back to health.
She never complained with the dressing changes, shots or tubing her. I had her 14 years.
The best moments I had with her was during the summer she would spot me on the deck and duck under the fence and come running over. We'd sit on the deck and she'd stick her head in the pitcher of margaritas and bag of Doritos and we'd sun ourselves. Sometimes she'd climb on the lounge chair with me. She also loved a cold beer.

But military prep schools are very good at marching. We both know the difference between parade and combat units. I am sure he was also very good shinning that brass.

(53,339 posts)Or spit-shined the floor of his room. I mention that only because that was something we had to do in Infantry OCS. Spit-shine the floors of our rooms. My roommate and I were exceptionally good at it and sailed through inspections.
Unlike Trump's rich kid classmates, my OCS roommate was KIA in Vietnam.

Hey my list is growing. After all immigrant from Mexico and Latina made sure I would not consider him already. I guess this is just more.
Oh and his treatment of Jorge Ramos chafed both of us.
Sadly though I understand why he is doing so well among the republican base though. It is actually quite scary.

(154,021 posts)hell we have not done anything election wise in a week. I was busy reading a non important report on CA prisons and recidivism. Sadly, that, or anything that has to do with this, can be really drilled into anymore (on DU)
