Oath Keepers put ‘boots on the ground’ to guard oath-breaking Kim Davis

The Oath Keepers, an armed, camouflage-wearing volunteer militia famous for hunkering down at Bundy Ranch, now say they have “boots on the ground” to protect Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, who they believe was denied her right to a jury trial.

Davis, the elected clerk of Rowan County, has become the current celebrity of the anti-gay movement for staunchly refusing to issue marriage licenses after the Supreme Court’s Obergefell v. Hodges ruling in June legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. After defying the highest court and subsequent court orders to issue the licenses, a federal judge held her in contempt and jailed her.

In a teleconference uploaded to YouTube, Oath Keeper founder Stewart Rhodes discussed the operation with Kentucky sheriff Denny Peyman, Missouri Oath Keeper John Karriman, and West Virginia Oath Keeper Allen Landieri. The group claimed that their new mission had nothing to do with same-sex marriage and insisted they were only offering to guard Davis because the judge had acted illegally.

“People should consider her under our protection,” Rhodes says in the teleconference. “We’ll make sure that our people are keeping a close eye on the situation and we’re going have boots on the ground to keep watch regardless, because this judge needs to understand that he’s not going be able to just go grab this lady whenever he feels like it.”

Bullseye!

Maybe one day someone in law enforcement will wake up and label them a domestic terrorist organization. Their 'boots on the ground' is a clear declaration of war against LEO imo.

I know a penis, white skin and the tea party archetype will go far in this country...but how far is too far?

Enough is enough already...

The judge can order her before his court anytime he wants and if she doesn't show the U.S. Marshalls get involved.

The Oafkeepers can say whatever they want but the response from a US Marshall is going to be "I DON'T CARE!"

They just surrounded them and let them sweat it out in the desert.

BLM and Vegas police (Clark County) decided that the whack job threat to their personnel was too great and they didn't wsnt that image especially having to do with a nothing like Cliven Bundy.

And their 'boots on the ground' can only mean they are saying the US Marshalls are enemy combatants. I think these Oathmorons need to really see and feel the inside of a jail cell...but the scary thing is it would just reinforce their cray cray imo, not fix it or reduce it.

These asshats are trying to set up a shadow government. A heavily armed shadow government, one that threatens to overthrow the rule of law. If thy want to provoke a confrontation they should be met by 1,000 federal officers who have orders to use lethal force. Why should the citizens of this country tolerate having their government hijacked by a band of armed thugs?

There is no law against saying stupid things, or wandering around Rowan County, Kentucky saying them.

They are currently not interfering with the operation of anything.

A group of armed revolutionaries is threatening to overthrow our government. I thin i's a lot of macho swagger, but we need to be prepared in case they use force against the judge. Remember when federal troops had to enforce desegregation in the south? This is essentially the same thing.
