Romney's response ad to Mayor Booker's comments was rather impressive in its speed...

..in which they were able to get an ad on the air to take advantage of the "miscue".

Their war-room is really on the ball. They are ready to pounce on every move that Obama or any of his surrogates might make.

I would guess that Karl Rove's SuperPac may have been involved? They are very aggressive and intent on attacking the President at every opportunity.

The surrogates, such as Mayor Booker and others, must be aware of the Republicans desire to attack this President at every small misstep. They wish to put the President on the defensive and keep him there. That is Karl Rove's strategy. He used it against Kerry, when he was working with George W Bush, and he is using it again.

However...

However, this White House seems to be ready to counter any of these Rovian raids on the media market. They are no longer playing checkers...

It would require Dances with Rove to be in on it, which also seems logical.

But if they knew Booker was going to say this, why did Booker try to backtrack his remarks?

Playing both ends against the middle by accepting the gop 13 pieces of silver to cut President Obama; and then, using that cutting to "clarify" his comment/position ... giving President Obama ammunition to fire more shots at romney.

And if we're talking 13 dimensional chess, this could have been the Obama campaign plan all along. Their attack on romney vis-a-vis Bain will run stale on gop-leaning independants after a few news cycles.

By having Booker toss out the argument that is already being made by independants, gives entre into gop-leaning markets via fox and the rightwing media. And Booker's pull back gives the Obama Campaign the ears to whom they can address what the independants are saying.

But that really IS chess on a whole 'nother level!
