LINCOLN Nebraska property owners will get a record-high refund from a state tax credit next year due to action by the State Legislature.
The owner of home or property valued at $150,000 will receive a $141 refund through the states property tax credit, nearly $34 more than this year. That represents a 32 percent increase.
This spring, the Nebraska Legislature authorized a $64 million increase in the credit program as a means to provide property tax relief.
That boosted the credit fund to $204 million. The State Revenue Department, on Monday, released its calculation of the credit amount.
