UK's Establishment Elite just getting started in the Corbyn fear-mongering department

Here's the Telegraph's chief Tory a$$-kisser, Allister Heath, as shameless a Smithers-like conservative lapdog as the UK conservative press can churn out, screeching that the election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader will "ruin the economy" and lead to "the destruction of Britain’s reputation for economic competence."

Note: UK taxpayers forked over £500 billion (approx. $850 billion) to rescue "economically competent" UK banks in 2008.

America’s mainstream media freaks out after Socialist wins UK Labour leadership

The American media, perplexed as to how someone labeled with the dreaded “s” word could not only capture a major party nomination but do so with the largest mandate in the history of the party, went into full smear mode:

Karl Marx admirer Corbyn elected UK opposition Labour leader

This headline was used everywhere from NBC News to Yahoo News who reprinted the story.

Mr Corbyn, 66, was quizzed about his views on Marx, the author of the Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital, by BBC interviewer Andrew Marr yesterday.

The Islington North MP said: “Marx obviously analysed what was happening in a quite brilliant way and the philosophy around Marx is fascinating.

“He was essentially a fascinating figure … from whom we can learn a great deal.”

So is it really unfair for the media to refer to Corbyn as an admirer of Marx?

He finds Marx fascinating, so what? Lots of people do. I don't see headlines addressing Rand Paul as "Ayn Rand admirer, Rand Paul"

as at least it's taking on Corbyn's policy ideas, rather than faux outrage over him not singing the national anthem or not accepting freebies to watch England play rugby.

He supports the shit Russia is pulling. He's anti-Israel and has cozied up with anti-Semites. He would end the ties the UK has with the US.

He's worse than fucking Chavez was.

Right wingers also loathe his republicanism and near pacifist views on foreign policy.

Personally, I totally understand why he won the Labour leadership contest. However, I disagree with a lot of his views on issues ranging from Ukraine to reopening coal mines. He comes across as a man of great principle, but not necessarily the most practical or pragmatic of politicians
