Meg McGuffin, Miss Alabama: Jeb and Chris could "absolutely do the job," but...

Miss Alabama: GOP should be 'absolutely terrified' of Trump

Miss Alabama Meg McGuffin didn't take home the Miss America crown during Sunday's pageant.

But thanks to her indictment of Donald Trump during her Q&A, McGuffin—who was named the night's fourth runner-up—is the contestant America is talking about the morning after.

“According to a poll released this week, Donald Trump is leading Republican candidates by 32 percent of the votes,” Kyle asked. “Why do you think he’s leading by such an overwhelming margin?” McGuffin had strong words for Trump In her answer.

“I think Donald Trump is an entertainer. And I think he says what’s on a lot of people’s minds but I think that the Republican party should be absolutely terrified of all the attention that he is taking from incredible candidates like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie who could absolutely do the job of president of the United States. And if I were a Republican, I would absolutely be terrified of that. Thank you.”

I didn't think her answer was that bad although I was surprised by it. I think the question the ultimate winner got, about whether Tom Brady of the Patriots was guilty of cheating was the worst question and she gave the worst answer of all of them. She didn't seem to know much about the subject and gave a flustered response. She even seemed like she thought she blew it. I was surprised when she won but I think she was most likely a favorite from the start due to her strong talent, opera.

And they only have like 30 seconds to answer each one. I'm not even sure that a fourth year Harvard political science major could give an accurate and concise answer to the questions they ask in this pageant in 30 seconds.

But with all the actual, legitimate scandals surrounding Chris Christie and Jeb Bush, they're "excellent candidates"?
