Sep 21, 2015 10:35 PM EDT - 2 Women say Kim Davis took her name and the county off their marriage

license.

(This is a test case of authority to set precedence IMO to further the erosion of church/state boundaries. I see this as a BFD, as do many.)

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kim Davis might be finding herself in legal trouble again. Two of the plaintiffs in her case are asking her to be held in contempt.

They say it's because Davis allowed a marriage license issued to a same-sex couple to be altered, by removing her name and the name of the county.

The women say it is not clear whether altered licenses are legal.

Their motion asks a federal judge to put the clerk's office in receivership, to ensure licenses are issued properly.

If the alterations impede the authorization of licenses, then she broke her deal.

I'm absolutely blown away by this woman's audacity. I'm even more blown away that she's getting away with it.

If she is allowed to do this, the horrible ramifications are endless. THIS is Sharia law

enough. Yes, Sharia law, the Christian Taliban at work. I'm more concerned about them than "those" over there we are supposed to fear.

This is scary stuff. Truly frightening.

I don't believe this has ever happened to this extent before. It's dangerous and better end soon. There will be no law at all if clerks get to, arbitrarily, decide what the law is.

This goes even beyond separation of church and state. It's the beginning of anarchy. I realize I sound overly dramatic but what else could these lead to?

revolution. All directed toward a Christian Theocracy for the US. It's far beyond marriage equality. The marriage equality issue is being use as a tool for them to erode the separation of church and state, and Kim Davis is a compliant stooge. It is scary and truly frightening. Movements like this can lead to a breakdown of the US. Maybe not in all ways, but the message is ones religion trumps law and order.

Just thought it was close enough to use it against the Christian fanatics since they're the ones screaming about other religions.

I think putting the clerk's office in receivership is the only logical course of action at this stage.

her name doesn't have to be on the printed form, and a deputy clerk can sign instead of her, *but* there has to be a space for her name to be filled in *and* the name of the county must be on it.

back to jail for her, imho.

Let me if I can alter a drivers license and see what happens
let me see if I burn a draft card and see what happens
Let me see if I just ignore a summons see what happens
Let me see if I alter a death certificate let me see what happens
Let me see if I just decide to alter a voter registration card what would happen
Let me see if any documents altered in the state of Kentucky can now be altered just because someone wants to do that------------ to hell with the Rule of Law and to hell with the courts, to hell with a judges, to hell will juries, and to hell with a Contempt citation

I made a remark that she would do something in a week
I lost, it's been ten days---------now let's see what happens----------I do not think the court had this in mind, and that this woman would have some kind of common sense

My point was and is, it's a a official document even from the dog catcher which cannot be altered that is a problem------------I say throw her back in jail and anyone else in the country that is doing this stuff----------I really am sick and tired of the "christian conservatives" getting away with "stuff"------------------enough is enough
I think she should be paying out of her own pocket $5,000.00 a day in a Contempt citation fine and eating bologna sandwiches in jail----------federal jail

17. From the Kentucky statutes:
Tue Sep 22, 2015, 02:23 AM
Sep 2015

402.100 Each county clerk shall use the form prescribed by the Department for Libraries and Archives when issuing a marriage license ...

402.240 In the absence of the county clerk, or during a vacancy in the office, the county judge/executive may issue the license and, in so doing, he shall perform the duties and incur all the responsibilities of the clerk. The county judge/executive shall return a memorandum thereof to the clerk, and the memorandum shall be recorded as if the license had been issued by the clerk.

as long as he can. This is nothing but idiocy, and an example needs to be made of her. Huckabee has been egging this situation on all along, and I think he should be in jail as well. I've fucking had it with these nuts.
