(9,083 posts)with foreign workers are "failed at life"? We're blaming the victims here?
I agree, the foreign workers are not to blame either, they just want a job themselves. But how is an engineer who has been replaced by an H1-B visa worker "failed at life"? Or call center workers whose jobs have been moved overseas? Put the blame where it belongs, on business and the politicians who support these shenanigans, not the workers!

(9,083 posts)Displaced workers are victims of greedy corporations, NOT foreign workers, but some DO blame foreign workers for their plight (even on this sight). It's terrible FOR THE VISUAL IN THE OP to indicate they've "failed at life" because their jobs were moved overseas.

(4,840 posts)I happen to be a slacker and I'm offended by your insinuation that we are failures. I'm quite satisfied with my life. Slackers know how to disconnect from the corruption that permeates the system. I would call that a giant success.

(9,083 posts)Who is exactly "failed at life" and blaming foreign workers? "Poor choices" sounds like right wing speak.

(6,342 posts)Is that worker that was layed off still a "failure at life?"
Isn't this what many IT firms are doing by taking advantage of the HIB visa worker program? I know that a company Disney contracts just recently did it to save labor costs. They even made the layed off workers train their foreign replacements.
I guess it was just a "poor choice" as you say for that worker to take a job that an immigrant can do for cheaper. The corporations would love you.

(22,109 posts)and learning from them. Using foreigners as scapegoats is a common reason for the growth of anti-immigration hysteria in the UK, where this comes from.
And in answer to your question, no.
