Rep. Robert Brady (D-Pa.) scored a souvenir from Pope Franciss congressional address on Thursday.
During the commotion following the pontiffs remarks, the Pennsylvania lawmaker sneaked up to the lectern and swiped the popes water glass.
Anything the pope touches becomes blessed, Brady told The Washington Post. I think so and no one is going to change my mind.
Brady took the half-full glass back to his office, where he, his wife, and two staffers took turns taking sips.

(2,593 posts)I find it embarrassing that a member of congress would act like that, especially a Democrat. I sort of expect that kind of crazy from Republicans.

(13,596 posts)I drew a girl stick figure in my sausage gravy and declared it was an apparition of The Virgin Mary! My buddy and his partner took the cue and made a huge deal of it, crossing themselves and the whole works! We had the whole place roaring with laughter! They took it from me and brought me more hashbrowns and gravy, saying they were going to save it and get the word out. People from all over the world making the pilgrmage to witness the blessed gravy!

(15,805 posts)but that picture --- she doesn't look like she's enjoying the experience. It conjures memories of childhood meds and mom cajoling, "But it's good for you!" A good caption might be, Is it Pope water, or is it castor oil?
