Trump on the Confederate Flag.

The Donald was asked about that flag and the Civil War. Here is his reply.

Anyone that flies that flag is dumb. The South was not very smart and surrendered. I don’t like losers and dumb people.
The leaders of the Confederacy were terrible at negotiations. They could have gotten everything they wanted without firing a shot. We all know the Civil war not about slavery, it was about states rights. They had the greatest bargaining chip in the world. They could have used slavery as a tool to get all of the states rights they could have ever have imagined by bargaining away slavery. By doing that they would have ended up the hero to the world. Robert E Lee would have been on the penny, not Lincoln. Not that I like pennies. I’ll get rid of them once and for all because they are for losers. I like large bills not change. We should celebrate winners and smart people.

IMHO.

Seems like most of our laws and national trajectory are headed in a way that would have been approved by the old confederacy right now.

They will never get their slavery back, but well below poverty wages and not having to house the workers seems like a better deal for them. That is just the start.
