Should Jeb Bush Be Freaking Out Right Now?

LINK to article

natesilver (Nate Silver, editor in chief): Bush shouldn’t panic, but he should worry. Most of those endorsements came early in the race. He hasn’t received any in the past couple weeks, whereas Marco Rubio has received three. That’s not that many — but at the very least we can say the establishment is not rallying around Bush.

hjenten: Yes, I think it would be fair to say that Bush isn’t winning. I’m not sure it is fair to say that he is losing.

micah: He’s … existing.

natesilver: Gut-check: What are Bush’s chances of winning the nomination?

hjenten: 25 percent.

come along and pull the rug out from under the entire GOP show. Frankly, I'm glad Trump is doing it, the GOP establishment is totally out of control and disgusting. Not that I'm for Trump, I'm just glad to see the GOP all F'ed up.

He's got the bush money machine behind him, but even the repub base doesn't like him. Even compared to his idiot brother, jeb? comes across as a dimwit.

His only path to the nomination is a long war of attrition where all the other choices self-destruct. If he's the last clown standing, he'll get the nomination--unless romney then decides to try again.

It will be either Jeb or Rubio in the end, and the machine is still likely going with Bush.

My two cents.

who was at all driven to run for President. He seems to be doing it because it's somehow expected of him, sort of the way a lot of people go to college because it's expected of them, not because they love learning or are desperate to learn as much about 17th century French poetry (just to name one potential major) as they possibly can.

That is, if the BFEE and Karl Rove are still working for the Bush family.

The media would then report breathlessly about Rubio's scandal(s) to tank him from the race.

Leaving Bush as the Establishment candidate.

They do still own the voting machines after all.

I suppose it's possible that the Establishment just isn't as enamored with Jeb as I had originally thought though.

His campaign material looks like leftovers from when he ran for Governor. I suspect he figured he'd announce and it'd be handed to him.
