Ex-Scientologists: David Miscavige Is a 'Terrorist'

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/10/14/ex-scientologists-david-miscavige-is-a-terrorist.html

Former high-ranking Scientologists claim the church and its autocratic leader, David Miscavige, have taken on the modus operandi of a terrorist network in the latest documentary film to examine the secretive religion....

Tom DeVocht, a Scientologist from 1977-2005, claims the church’s inner-workings have evolved into a system of devotion on a par with the fanatical recruiters and brainwashers of al-Qaeda and the so-called Islamic State widely known as ISIS....

Marty Rathbun, who was a Scientology executive until 2004, claimed Miscavige had become increasingly malevolent and was now employing “terroristic” techniques in order to silence his critics.

He described the church as “the most pernicious, dangerous cult the Western world has known in the past 50 years.”

2. After watching Going Clear, I definitely don't doubt many of the claims made against that "church".

David Miscavige seems like a terrorist after watching that movie.

"Terrorism" cannot just mean "people we despise." Applying the term "terrorist" to an individual has DRASTIC CONSEQUENCES for their human and civil rights.

Don't throw it around as a pejorative.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_McPherson

Lisa McPherson (February 10, 1959 – December 5, 1995) was a member of the Church of Scientology who died of a pulmonary embolism while under the care of the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization, Inc. Following the report of the state of Florida's medical examiner that indicated that Lisa was a victim of negligent homicide,[1] the Church of Scientology was indicted on two felony charges, "abuse and/or neglect of a disabled adult" and "practicing medicine without a license." The charges against the Church of Scientology were dropped after the state's medical examiner changed the cause of death from "undetermined" to an "accident" on June 13, 2000. A civil suit brought by her family against the Church was settled on May 28, 2004.[2]

Everyone that commits a heinous crime is not a "terrorist." The U.S. Government has attached very specific and very unconstitutional consequences to being a "terrorist", yet the definition of that term is very, very vague - a situation which is made worse when people call for labeling criminals as "terrorists" because of ideological, religious or political differences.

Lisa McPherson was not the victim of "terrorism" - she was the victim of medical malpractice and abuse.

5. Miscavige doesn't have that sociopathic charm going for him like LRon did.

His heavy handed tactics aren't all that different, but without that dose of charisma backing them up, they're being noticed for what they really are. $cientology has been getting much smaller for the last few years and now they're starting to abandon SeaOrg, the group of zealots at the very center, the enforcers of the cult. And they're talking about why they left.

The BBC has put out a couple of good documentaries on them.
