From staff reports
The west Omaha child care provider whose license was revoked Thursday after authorities alleged she admitted to using heroin and other drugs is married to an Omaha police officer.
Shannon Bennetts husband is Russell W. Bennett, an Omaha police officer since 2007. He reported that three guns a Smith & Wesson model 629 Classic .44 Magnum, a Glock 26 and an unknown Springfield (handgun) that had been delivered to the house on Sept. 18 were missing.
On Sept. 25, he reported, he saw that the box that had contained the .44 Magnum was upside-down and empty near the front door. The other two guns and the boxes they were in were missing, he told the Douglas County Sheriffs Office.
Shannon Bennett operated Little Sprouts Clubhouse, a home day care near 156th and Fort Streets.
