Rubio gives up on Senate: ‘He hates it’

Last edited Mon Oct 26, 2015, 01:19 AM - Edit history (1)

Marco Rubio is a U.S. senator. And he just can’t stand it anymore.

“I don’t know that ‘hate’ is the right word,” Rubio said in an interview. “I’m frustrated.”

This year, as Rubio runs for president, he has cast the Senate — the very place that cemented him as a national politician — as a place he’s given up on, after less than one term. It’s too slow. Too rule-bound. So Rubio, 44, has decided not to run for his seat again. It’s the White House or bust.

“That’s why I’m missing votes. Because I am leaving the Senate. I am not running for reelection,” Rubio said in the last Republican debate, after Donald Trump had mocked him for his unusual number of absences during Senate votes.

..............................

Now, he’s done. “He hates it,” a longtime friend from Florida said, speaking anonymously to say what Rubio would not.

So this worm's explanation for why he's not doing the job the people of his state elected him to is that he doesn't like it. That's fine, Marco. Then remove your ass from the seat and don't spend the next 14 months collecting a paycheck from taxpayers you don't deserve.

He'll just stop doing it?

Not that he would ever get the chance to find out, but it's worth asking...

Mrs. Palin didn't like being Alaska's governor either, so she quit.
Guess Rubio & Mrs. Palin don't like being public servants.

It's true that, if done well, public service demands a lot of work.

Running for president after that admission isn't commendable.

and who allowed Kendrick Meek to be back stabbed deserve as much credit for this monster as the GOP. Yes, those who turned DU into "Crist for Senate, even though he is not officially a Democrat yet" know who they are.

I voted for Crist in 2010 and I'm glad I did. For a Republican, I thought he was a good governor and, from my perspective, the other guy had zero chance of winning and voting for him would have been a waste. I don't feel like I "deserve as much credit" as the GOP for Rubio being a senator and, frankly, I really don't give a damn if you feel like I do.

That's all I'm going to say on this because I'm not the least bit interested in debating the outcome of a senate election from five years ago. It's irrelevant. Rubio is a senator, he sucks and doesn't even like the job he fought so hard to obtain, and he'll thankfully be leaving soon.

So I'm just going to go on interviews for a new job for the next 14 months and keep cashing checks from my current employer until I find a new place. I'm sure they won't mind.

they sit around talking crap - no actual work and they don't even have to make sense. And he could drink all the water he wants.

It's the perfect job for him!
