Rubio gives up on Senate: ‘He hates it’

Marco Rubio is a U.S. senator. And he just can’t stand it anymore.

“I don’t know that ‘hate’ is the right word,” Rubio said in an interview. “I’m frustrated.”

This year, as Rubio runs for president, he has cast the Senate — the very place that cemented him as a national politician — as a place he’s given up on, after less than one term. It’s too slow. Too rule-bound. So Rubio, 44, has decided not to run for his seat again. It’s the White House or bust.

“That’s why I’m missing votes. Because I am leaving the Senate. I am not running for reelection,” Rubio said in the last Republican debate, after Donald Trump had mocked him for his unusual number of absences during Senate votes.

This is pathetic. Rubio can't hack it in the Senate, and somehow believe that qualifies him to be president??????

lose Florida. The people there elected him to be their representative, and he's telling them that he's giving it up and not going to votes anymore? It's a stupid fucking move to say something like that, and he looks like a spoiled brat.

Those paychecks aren't going to cash themselves. You know what a real leader would do if he found himself in your situation, Sen. Rubio? Of course you don't. Dumb question.

... although just skipping votes to pursue a hopefully fruitless Presidential bid is pretty classless.

Still, we can make better use of the seat!

has forced-fed deadly poison to the entire US Government. Instead of working to undo the damage he and his cohorts have done and continue to do, he skips out on his duty. Trump's criticism of him as an absentee senator is accurate and sufficient to destroy his attempt to become president. Rubio should resign now -- he is unfit for the Senate.

Not as bad as they have made it, but isn't it designed to make sure that knee jerk decisions can't be reached?

It's a deliberative body. He would hate it even if his own crowd hadn't clogged the arteries.

He a small person who thinks there are quick and simple solutions to everything.

The very concept of sitting down to discuss an issue is anathema to him. The adjective used to describe the pace has nothing to do with why he's quitting.
