You guys might feel better about 2016 than I do, but I wouldn't put it past us for a moment to elect even the most lunatic member of Team Clown 2016. Especially now with our Faux propaganda stream and echo chamber.
I hope everyone here does everything they can to prevent that outcome happening again. I won't diss Hillary because, as much as I believe Bernie to be the better candidate for our future, I'm not going to do anything to make a republican win one more vote, or keep one Democratic voter home on election day should the primary go differently than I'd like.

(53,235 posts)kinda jaded by then). It's certainly possible for the PTB to ensure they get the moron they want for president. They've got the courts and legislature, so they don't really care about the presidency as much. Whatever puppet entertains them the most, they'll install.
After all, we haven't had a democracy in decades.

(37,748 posts)On the other hand, McCain's pick of Palin guaranteed his defeat due to her record-setting level of absurdity, buffoonery and general idiocy.
Realizing as such, I imagine I do feel rather more positive regrading the Democrat's 2016 victory.

(36,289 posts)Sad to think that if Ford hadn't pardoned Nixon, he might have served two terms and kept the moderates at the helm of the party. Can you imagine what a difference ten years of a pro-choice, pro-ERA First Lady Betty Ford might have made ?

(55,981 posts)so you really will only have one choice for president. And the Powers That Be are trying very hard to ensure they own that choice.
