Really, it's not.

We've been at a constant level 1 for what, days, weeks? If you check Alexia, traffic was not elevated during that time, it's actually down. At the least bit of server load we get bumped up to level 3 now? Something is not right here.

A lot of people now refuse to donate to the site. A site which offers us a lot of nice features, all of which equate to elevated memory load on the servers. Which the admin have stated recently need to be upgraded, and they're hoping to be able to do in the future.

I'm not saying the "I hate the admin/site/everything" people who refuse to donate, and use the hell out of this site have anything to do with the fact that DU is degrading. Partly because it would make them all too happy. I'm just saying I donated tonight because I appreciate the site, and what the admin give all of us here. I was due anyway, and I'm fortunate to have had a good month at work last month. I use this site way too much to see it go to the dogs like so many others I've been on.

I was intending a bit of irony. If you knew me better, you'd know I use that term in a way that is always intended to be ironic, not mean at all. Such as, I used to live in Minneapolis. It was my experience that it really wasn't as incredibly cold as the locals always pretended, and that it was such a nice place to live, that they exaggerated the cold to keep out the riff-raff. By which I meant anyone who was put off by the cold, not anyone actually undesirable.

And I think that a contribution as low as $5.00 will get back your star.
