Larry David is a massive tool

Comedian Larry David claimed a $5,000 bounty by calling Donald Trump a “racist” during his opening monologue on NBC's “Saturday Night Live” (SNL).

“You’re a racist!” he yelled, interrupting Trump.

“Who the hell is – oh, I knew this was going to happen,” Trump responded. “Who is that?”

“Trump’s a racist!” David responded.

“I heard if I did that, they’d give me $5,000,” he added.

Way to help a dangerous, nativist demagogue and his starstruck NBC enablers laugh off very valid criticism, you prick.

I shouldn't be surprised. This is, after all, the guy who tried to trivialize Michael Richards' bigotry.

What the fuck did they expect to happen, especially when they announced it well in advance?

Of course SNL was going to run with it, and if any audience member actually did shout out 'Trump is a racist', it
would get cut out.

Personally, it would have been funnier if David had said it doing his Bernie Sanders impersonation.

They want to be consequential, yet deny any negative influence that may result when they refuse to participate in what they label "political correctness," otherwise known as a sense of decency that rejects objectifying oppression in the interest of their own comedic satisfaction and pursuit of personal success.

To put it in the context of humor suggests that racism is so trivial that it is reasonable to use it as a toy for their craft.

there was a bounty placed for anyone (or at least, the first one) who would interrupt the live show by shouting "Trump's a racist!"

It's quite possible this was put in to preempt a shouter from the audience.

Ergo, the asshole doesn't get the $5K because they failed to meet the requirements.

the "bounty" is not critical of David, they're going to pay him the $5000:

It's ridiculous to think that the show wouldn't take some sort of shot at a group paying a "bounty" on disruption.

It is almost like the group making the offer could care less about racism and more about getting press.

Also, if they are that clueless about human nature, do I really care about what they 'claim' to care about?

Finally, I expect comedians to at least attempt to make me laugh, if they are pushing a social agenda that doesn't reinforce my selective outrage and what I care about at that moment in time, I change the channel.
