Congress won't be showing up for work much in 2016

Workdays highlighted in blue

House Republicans have unveiled the 2016 House calendar, and it's good news for fans of not showing up for work.
Forty-two days. That's how many days, in the last six months of 2016, members of Congress will be asked to show up to potentially debate or vote or govern. There are no work days at all during August or October—in fact, September 30 will be the last work day of the year until the November elections have safely passed.

It's not all sunshine and roses, of course. Those long absent spells will be filled with campaigning, and fundraisers, and ... well, just those, actually. Still, seems like nice "work" if you can get it.

But they go and make speaches and raise money. I guess some of the time is spent in district offices but not much. Of course maybe this is good....less damage to our country believe it or not.

Regardles of their productivity, if any productivity at all.

Paul Ryan ample time to get home to his house in Wisconsin and wash the dishes. Multiple times.
