Not that it would be exactly a paradise or problem-free zone if we'd left it alone. But we sure made it really bad really fast.

Mother fuckers should be in jail for what they did in Iraq and the creation of ISIS.

"And all the stuff we're seeing today -- the rise of ISIS, the disintegration of the state in Iraq, the disintegration of the state in Syria, I think is directly connected to our invasion," said Clarke.

"We destroyed the state. This is what happens when you destroy a state. You have chaos, you have the rise of factions, regional and ethic factions," he continued. "And I think you can look at that decision and say that's the reason hundreds of thousands -- probably a couple of million if you add it all up -- people have been killed."

Again I don't know if the Paris attacks are linked to ISIS but I have a feeling that
might very well be.

Saddam Hussein used to shot al Qaeda members whenever he got the
chance and after we invaded Iraq al Qaeda in Iraq was born and that
morphed into ISIS.

Again I don't know if the Paris attacks are linked to ISIS or not.

Because one Dem candidate did vote to enable Bush and Cheney to pursue the Iraq war and another one had the good sense to vote against it.

17. Saddam Hussein's regime was degenerating at the time of the US invasion
Fri Nov 13, 2015, 11:47 PM
Nov 2015

In large part due to the fallout from the Iran-Iraq War, the Gulf War, along with further American bombings and UN sanctions. And many militant groups - both Sunni and Shiite - were operating in Iraq even before the US went in. Among the most notorious Sunni terrorist group was Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group, which was in many ways a forerunner to ISIS.

The regime (or regimes - since Iraq is, of course, deeply divided along sectarian lines) that would almost certainly have replaced Saddam's was in all likelihood not going to be an American ally. In all probability, Iraq would have been even more chaotic than it is today. Or, America wouldn't have been directly involved in the chaos.

I just don't see how things would have been so much different.

We remember the PNAC plan and have to remember that it is still on going. That never stopped. Bush and Cheney are parasites. What they did to the planet left it overall in a far worse condition.

Did they really think the world would become more stable, when each and every moment they were making it obviously more unstable?

Nobody even ever bought that shit!

NONE OF US here on DU did.
