Reports are that the terrorists had automatic weapons, explosives, and grenades.

"Good guy with a gun" argument goes out the window on this one. These terrorists had superior firepower to anything anybody could conceal carry or even open carry.

Although, just to play devil's advocate, the laws prohibiting such weaponry didn't seem to cut much ice with the murdering psychopaths.

This is an argument against laws generally.

The death toll from guns will still be proportionately much lower in France this month than the US.

15. No, but in cases of potential mass loss of life, you want some prevention.

It doesn't much help the dead people or the aggrieved to "bring the killer to justice", particularly if he already shot himself.

Every report is stating they were killed by the French authorities.

Some were wearing explosive vests and we're shot by the police. Some managed to set them off. Regardless, the police ended the threat. Rumor is they had guns. The attackers didn't stand in an empty room and kill their selves after running out of ammo. They weren't done until armed forces arrived.

Sort of blows your argument out of the water, much like their suicide vests blew them up before a single shot hit them:

They would have surely brought death to themselves and all around them. The attackers were spread out, they were armed with assault weapons and they had spare magazines. Talk about bringing a knife to a gun fight.

And the suicide vests they wore were the final nullification to "good guys with guns" as they blew themselves up before they could be shot.
