State Department info for Americans in France and their loved ones

People in the US can call 1-888-407-4747 if you are concerned about a US Citizen in Paris. From overseas, call 001-202-501-4444.

The US Embassy in Paris asks all Americans in the area to contact loved ones directly or via social media.

Travelers are also asked to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, which makes locating US citizens abroad at least a little easier in times of emergency.

Please don't call about non-US citizens; the diplomatic corps have very specific systems they use to stay out of each other's way and not duplicate work; call the embassy of their country of citizenship in France.
