The Paris massacre is a mini 9/11 the right wing are already jumping in this like starving dogs

to a prime rib.

Hilary is going to be pulled right, that's a given and if this disaster had happened two weeks ago we in Canada would be stuck with Harper for another decade.

He must be screaming that the ISIS extremists fucked up on their timing

Not much comfort for France but we dodged a bullet

So in the spirit of dabate what do DUers see as the consequences going into 2016?

A lot of DUers pooh-poohed the idea.

being viewed as squishy by Le Pen and other rightist elements in France. Merkel is going to be pushed to the right also or she will become an historical anecdote.

The German right are feeling their oats as well especially in Bavaria their old Nazi stomping ground.

Meanwhile Putin is looking like a genius hero. A reincarnation of Ivan III or Alexander Nevsky.

What a strange world we are entering

Watch for the most vitriolic responses in our party and theres the "tell" of who are really neoliberal Third Way members.

I expect Hillary (or at least several of her Dem party supporters) to be front and center as they will try to use this as a contrast to a potential Sanders administration.

Some will jump all over it as an excuse to wage war.

Others will jump all over it as an excuse to self-flagellate (to all appearances) in order to beat up on domestic enemies that they otherwise want to fight.

Others will jump all over it to blame those that they can't bring themselves even to feign solidarity and community with but who they want to fight anyway.

Some will view this as a call for greater engagement and commitment, for greater dialog and seeking to understand just why those who did this were justified. Others will view this as justification for greater isolation.

Most people will just fit it into their already-existing cognitive structures and view it (or the parts that fit, at least) as reinforcement for what they already "knew" must be true about the universe.
