According to CNN, Pope Francis just issued a Statement calling the unjustified attacks in Paris, Francis -- "Parts of the Piecemeal THIRD WORLD WAR".
Religion is something that's generally treated with a long-handle spoon here. However, there is a hope, that folks will listen to what the Pope just said. As everyone knows, the attacks in Paris as the deadest in Europe since the Second World War. ISIS has nothing to lose and don't mind death or killing themselves and everyone else in mass attacks. In America, the Conservative ideologue shows no care for their fellow human being with blatant attempts to take from those who have little to nothing, destroy our environment, water and food supply to advance their greed and has led to a on-going state of infighting among ourselves in person and especially on the medium of social media.
I could go on, but I won't. What Pope Francis just said is worrying, especially in light of the state of our World at the moment. Some will respond to this post with a state of sarcasm. Others will read this post and get it. Others will brush on by.
Either way, there is a firm brief, the War in Iraq thanks solely to George W. Bush for GREED, started this sad and pearled course in motion and serious prayers are needed at this time -- especially for the people of Paris.

(24,780 posts)There was lots of glee around here over this.

(48,181 posts)You claimed that a statement asserting that the pope engaged in victim blaming over hedbo was clueless. You were the one woefully misinformed.

(13,598 posts)Thankfully, the bad guys lost that time. But I think she convincingly proved the point that in order to preserve freedom of speech it's necessary to keep on insulting Islam and drawing Mohammed.
Religion is, in general a bad thing, and Islam is, in general, even worse than other religions.
Insulting religion, especially Islam, is often, but not always, a good thing.
Yes, sometimes wicked religious people try to use force to prevent other people exercising their freedom of speech.
But deceptively using a double meaning of "you should expect this" to excuse their behaviour and condemn their victims is wrong.

(52,589 posts)It doesn't have boundaries. Many I suppose will put their own interpretations as to this meaning he is for war. Ridiculous notion.

As for your prayers, God isn't listening to you. He's listening to ISIS. They're winning the prayer war.

(5,231 posts)had 191 deaths in a 2004 terrorist attack, therefor this Paris attack is not the worst attack in Europe since WW II.
LovingA2andMI
(7,006 posts)And the final total of unjustified deaths are not tallied yet officially in France due to this attack as over 180 individuals are injured and many critically. The total according to media reports, now stands at 143. #FYI...you might want to wait before trying to prove a point that was a small part of the overall OP.

(5,231 posts)" As everyone knows, the attacks in Paris as the deadest in Europe since the Second World War. " That is simply not true.

(7,006 posts)With that, we will choose not to engage further as its a waste of time and takes away from the overall message.

(and it is curious, the way the Atocha station bombings have been largely airbrushed out of recent history by much English-language MSM). There was also Pan Am 103 (Lockerbie) (UK is also in Europe).
