Students at another institute of higher learning 'demands' censorship

This time at Amherst College in MA.

Would also require students "to go through the Disciplinary Process" and "to attend extensive training for racial and cultural competency” for objectionable behavior and/or statements.

I hope this doesn't become a trend.

Amherst students release list of demands protesting ‘free speech’ signs
The ‘Amherst Uprising’ wants the school to apologize for its ‘institutional legacy of white supremacy, colonialism, anti-black racism,’ among other things.

A group of 11 students at Amherst College, a private liberal arts school in western Mass., issued a list of 11 demands to administrators that includes making them apologize for signs that mourned the death of free speech.

The group, who call themselves the Amherst Uprising, said the college’s president Biddy Martin must issue a statement to the Amherst College community at large that says the school doesn’t tolerate the actions of students who posted the “All Lives Matter” posters, and the “Free Speech” posters that stated “in memoriam of the true victim of the Missouri Protests: Free Speech.”

5. President Martin must issue a statement to the Amherst College community at large that states we do not tolerate the actions of student(s) who posted the “All Lives Matter” posters, and the “Free Speech” posters that stated that “in memoriam of the true victim of the Missouri Protests: Free Speech.” Also let the student body know that it was racially insensitive to the students of color on our college campus and beyond who are victim to racial harassment and death threats; alert them that Student Affairs may require them to go through the Disciplinary Process if a formal complaint is filed, and that they will be required to attend extensive training for racial and cultural competency.

7. President Martin must release a statement by Friday, November 13th, 2015 by 5:00pm that condemns the inherent racist nature of the unofficial mascot, the Lord Jeff, and circulate it to the student body, faculty, alumni, and Board of Trustees. This will be followed up by the encouraged removal of all imagery including but not limited to apparel, memorabilia, facilities, etc. for Amherst College and all of its affiliates via a phasing out process within the next year.

Because man oh man, one thing I've noticed, there are some self-described "progressives" who absolutely HATE free speech more than just about anything else.

Saw a wee bit of it when I was in an Ivy League law school but it was just a handful of cranks and a couple of unreconstructed Maoists, one of whom was a vocal public defender of Pol Pot.

No one took them seriously. Nor should anyone take these self-important little turds seriously.

Power given is used. Power not used is squandered. Come on, how hard is this to see? Not to mention every single University is founded by 'racists'. What did you think the Confederate thing would be used for? Did you think a group of people, given the power to silence literally thousands of others, would not use it? Have you READ the Stanford Experiments?

Better yet, have you read the memoirs of the Cultural Revolution?

Personally, I wouldnt kick them out for whatever self-important flatulence manifestos they put out, no.

But it sounds like these kids arent going to be satisfied with just typing up a list of demands, though. When their "civil disobedience" over not being able to run the entire fucking universe to their specifications ramps up, I suspect they will cross the threshold of deserving official sanction.
