Foo Fighters Cancel European Tour Following Paris Terror Attacks

Foo Fighters have cancelled the remainder of their European tour in the wake of the terror attack in Paris that claimed the lives of 127 people including 118 at an Eagles of Death Metal concert. "It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour," the band said in a statement.
"In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can't continue right now," Foo Fighters added. "There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one."
Foo Fighters' long trek in support of Sonic Highways had four European dates left on it, including a pair of gigs in France: A November 16th performance at Paris' AccorHotels Arena and a concert the following night at Lyon's Halle Tony Garnier. As a result of the cancellation, Foo Fighters' show in Turin, Italy tonight, as well as their leg-ending concert in Barcelona, Spain on November 19th, were also nixed.
The terror attacks in Paris similarly forced U2 to postpone their scheduled Saturday concert at the French capital's Bercy Arena, a performance that was earmarked to be filmed for an upcoming HBO special. "We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight," U2 wrote in a statement. "We are devastated at the loss of life at the Eagles of Death Metal concert and our thoughts and prayers are with the band and their fans. And we hope and pray that all of our fans in Paris are safe."
