Who's been watching Tweety lose his mind

over the Syrian refugees?

Spouting the rethug line: they are on their own; they should step up to the frontlines in their own country; NOT MY PROBLEM.

Sickening.

I do agree that the Saudis and other wealthy nations in the ME need to step up in the fight against Daesh. We cannot let Daesh make this a battle against infidels. But his cruelty towards those running from the violence is shocking to me.

I saw a great internet "meme" yesterday about another era, where, at this time of year, a middle eastern couple was desperately seeking a home for them and their child.

of O'Lielly to boot. He was so manic tonight as to be almost unhinged, overtalking every person who tried to respond to his outrageous analogies. "Why won't the Syrians stand up for their country. We would!!! Look at the French after WWII, etc, etc. etc.". He is rapidly becoming an embarrassment.

He's whining about getting all those young Syrian men to reclaim their own country.....That didn't work so well in Viet Nam. And it hasn't worked more recently in other parts of the Middle East. Once indigenous people see a super power like the U.S. in the neighborhood, they figure (with plenty of evidence) that Uncle Sugar is going to fight their battles for them. Tweety's trashing of that commentator yesterday, followed by his additional trashing of the same person on today's show, was reprehensible. Chris Matthews pretends to be a moderate liberal, but he maintains a constant hard-on for warfare---he thinks this country is at its best when the bullets are flying and the bombs are dropping and the flag-draped caskets are being lowered into military gravesites. His spittle-flecked adulation of the flight suit-clad Dubya on that "Mission Accomplished" carrier remains one of the most sickening examples of corrupt journalism ever performed. He's an asshole, pure and simple.

First, he was agreeing with Democrats on refugee policy. Second, his call to recruit them to fight was a separate argument.

"What's to defend?". Do they defend Assad, a cruel hereditary dictator who has no compunctions about killing his citizens like flies? Do they defend their own religious community? Matthews, like most Rethugs seems to have absolutely no understanding of the history of that whole region of the world. The whole 'country' concept is foreign, corresponding to arbitrary, artificial divisions drawn on maps by the French and British after WWI at the implosion of the Ottoman Empire. Loyalty to artificial nationality is not a well established concept - Lebanese and Syrians do not consider themselves to be different people or to belong to different countries. The same with Jordanians as well. This is an area of the world where loyalties are historically first to family, second to tribe, and third to religious identification. Loyalty to a 'flag' or 'country' as Matthews understands it, is a foreign concept.

Does he want little kids to go to the front lines? That's sounds like what he's demanding.
