"All in the Family's" Archie Bunker became a hero to those who thought like him. While most laughed at his bigoted rants there where those shouting at the TV, "Right on Archie!"
I use to think that RWNJs were totally satire blind but some DUers have opened my eyes that some of us don't see irony and satire for what it is- political and social commentary.
Back in DU2 one of us got irate over a "racist" toon that was demeaning Latinos. It was by Lalo Alcaraz. I wish I could remember the toon but here's a couple from Lalo. The first is his strip La Cuco Rocha, the second his editorial on Paris.
the artwork is excellent. I have to say I kind of enjoyed the fox news skit also, it does sound like something that would get the talking heads popping over at that network, and I do believe it is pretty difficult sometimes to tell the difference between white supremacist and conservatives.
