Poll: Trump Jumps 17 Points Among Likely GOP Voters, Well Ahead Of Carson

Forty-two percent of likely GOP voters supported Trump in a five-day rolling poll released Friday by Reuters/Ipsos, up from 25 percent last week. Carson was also polling around 25 percent last week and his support among GOP voters has since dipped slightly.

Meanwhile, Sen. Marco Rubio's support among primary voters has remained level at 10 percent, despite a debate performance that was cheered by establishment Republicans.

Trump is also clearly leading the field among Republicans in general, claiming 34 percent of all Republicans in the sample to Carson's 20 percent.

but I see they're just attributing the jump to his appearance on SNL and then the debate a few days later.

President Trump.

Gods help us if it's up to Clinton to try and stop him from entering the White House.

It's pretty hard to find good news in this. Yes, it's not Carson, but still it's Trump. Yikes.

It might be the Republican establishment who need to fall in line and support their monster creation.

It's the old "You got what you want, but you don't want what you got."

the old saying we had was the customers complaining "You gave me what I asked for, but it's not what I want!"

got a crowded primary where Trump with 45% of republican voters will win primaries and their "real" candidates are falling by the wayside.I have to believe they're in full blown panic mode right now.

If he was cute like Sarah Palin, it wouldn't be surprising to see the male GOP electorate let the other head do the thinkin'. But without those good looks, Carson's recent demonstration of foreign policy ignorance would put off a bunch. Aside from that, I never took his candidacy that seriously anyway because the GOP is way too racist and phone polls don't have pictures of candidates.

I am still sure they would never actually vote for him to reflect the polling. He is dropping just like Herman Cain did. No surprise.

Carson bailed on the campaign for a book tour leaving himself open and it was really bad timing - a week from today people are going to switch off politics until after all the holidays.
