Police dog bites led to inmate's death, autopsy says

A 22-year-old Orange County Jail inmate died because of infections resulting from Orlando police dog bites he received during an August arrest, an autopsy released Wednesday says.

Max Gracia's death was ruled a homicide, though that doesn't mean there will be charges.

He was arrested Aug. 6.

He was bitten by a police dog while resisting arrest, receiving multiple penetrating dog bite injuries to the left thigh and leg, the autopsy said.

He "hid" in a lake for a length of time. The bites, creating open wounds, were undoubtedly a contributing factor allowing bacteria to infect the wounds.

If they didn't give him anti-biotics and clean the wounds, well, they may have a civil case on their hands.
