Muslim woman defends her wearing of American flag as hijab on Fox News to debate Donald Trump

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/muslim-woman-defends-wearing-american-flag-hijab-article-1.2439132

The Muslim woman who wore an American flag hijab as she debated religious freedom on Fox News on Wednesday defended what some are calling an insult to the Stars and Stripes.

“I’m a proud American,” Republican Muslim Coalition President Saba Ahmed told the Daily News after her on-air battle with a Donald Trump staffer. “I love the flag. That’s why I’m wearing it, because I’m so proud of it.”

Ahmed, 30, was on the conservative network’s show, “The Kelly File,” as part of a discussion of Trump’s proposal to close American mosques linked to terrorism.

1. From the Flag Code:
Wed Nov 18, 2015, 03:45 PM
Nov 2015
The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.

That sounds fairly clear to me.

I admire this women as much as I detest that hatespeaker thing on Fox.

(Very fashionable!)

....Fox and Kelly would be "offended" and "feel insulted" about anything if it paid off enough at the bank.

Wore those Flag Shoes.

And those flag bikinis they sell.

And t-shirts with the flag on them sold by Target.

What a silly thing to get the vapors about but - uh - Trump! And - Fox!

ON EDIT: Tacky, of course, but par for the course for many Americans.

The Flag Code applies to the flag, not articles of clothing or other apparel colored like the flag. When it says you shan't wear the spangly symbol of our land as a means of securing your testicles against a cold Michigan winter, it means, literally, you shouldn't run over to Billy Bob's Big Ass Lot O' Cars and swipe his 50-foot ÜBERPATRIOT AMERICAN FLAG X-TREME© (Made in China) to use as makeshift undergarments.

Of all the above photos, the only one likely in violation of the flag code is Stephen Colbert, who seems to be draped in an actual flag and not a blanket created in the style of an American flag.
