Apparently the New England states are getting a jump on leaving the United States at the prospect of a Ben Carson presidency.

We should be opening our doors to the refugees. As my governor said, it's not like they're going to be able to walk in. They still have to go through security screens, etc.

It's just a good indication of the number states who are outright denying access to refugees.

With the cartoonishly evil character, Rick Scott, as Guber in chief. He does NOT speak for me.

As if their impotence in foreign policy has any real impact other than pandering to the knuckle-dragging, lizard-brained reactionary base to which they're trying to appease.

since we don't have the facilities to care for people who have been tortured and have PTSD, but our governor has stated that we will not turn anyone away. It's our Congressional delegation that's bugging out about it, following the Republican line.

I can't vouch for the veracity of the map. I just posted it because of the legend describing the Gooper states denying refugees access to their states was apt.

OK, just noticed the post above mine. Good!

And just to clarify for all the states that are red, that is the leadership speaking, not necessarily the people.

Does not speak for me or anyone I know. He is hated here in Chicago along with his "Democratic" wife. Her affiliation was nothing more than a prop for him.

Chicago's City Council on Wednesday passed a resolution welcoming Syrian refugees and reaffirming "Chicago's status as a sanctuary city."

it is prudent to be on the defensive. In fact, it may be the states taking refugees which are surrendering. imho

Just read an article on Yahoo that five men with stolen passports have been detained in Honduras after a long trip through many countries with the intent of traveling to the U.S. They planned to 'hoof it' through Guatemala and Mexico. Seems logical they would enter the U.S. into Texas. I live in Texas and know that there are many who come across the border that we don't have a clue as to their backgrounds or whereabouts today. I don't think we need to add to that number. If that makes me a bad person wanting to protect fellow Texans, so be it. Call me what you want.

edit: spelling
