8. I was arguing with someone on Reddit yesterday.

I'm a liberal, and this guy said he was too. But the conversation fell apart quickly and devolved into an argument. I was EXTREMELY surprised when in his next post, the guy claimed to be a member of ISIS and claimed to be preparing attacks against the US. I alerted him on Reddit, and I filled out the FBI's online tip form, sending them the URL. It was very clear to me this person had nothing at all to do with ISIS--I looked at some of his older posts, and they're full of American idiom and interests. But it was really strange for him to take our argument directly to a "let's get in trouble with the feds" place. You can just never tell how an idiot is going to react.

Montreal police have charged a 24-year-old man in connection with a video posted on YouTube that shows someone in a Joker mask threatening to kill Muslim people in Quebec.

Jesse Pelletier faces charges of uttering threats, inciting hatred against an identifiable group, making a declaration to incite fear among an identifiable group, and using a fake firearm.

In the video, a man wearing a mask resembling the Joker from Batman comics threatens the death of one Arab per week in the province

"He did not mean anything in the video," she said. "When he realized the impact ... he took it off and unfortunately it stayed on the internet.

"He is [beside] himself because he's never been in jail. He has a son at home. He has a wife at home. I think it's a situation where he's definitely scared of what's going to happen," Amzallag said.
