Thank you

Calling someone a “hero” is so commonplace, athletes and busy parents are called “heroes” today when true heroic action is something our veterans know all too well, like what these two WWII veterans from Missoula Montana recall.

They were teenagers, fighting for a future for you and me. If not for them, and those who made the supreme sacrifice, we would not be a free nation today.

(Excerpts from the Missoulian.com) www.missoulian.com

“Everybody did something, everybody gave something, and some gave all, as far as I’m concerned, all the true heroes are still over there.” Navy veteran Rondo Scharfe

As Calvert watched in horror, he noticed a figure falling from the sky. That gave him hope. As he ran down the hillside to see if he could find the soldier, a Catholic Marine chaplain also raced toward the scene. When they reached the parachutist, the chaplain looked at Calvert, then at the dying man.“I knew Boy Scout first aid, but I couldn’t do anything,” he said. The chaplain dropped to his knees and gave the soldier his last rites.
“He looked to be about 17 or 18 years old, like me,” Calvert said. “You don’t get over that.” World War II veteran Galen Calvert

Thank you, our American heroes. We are in your debt every single day we rise out of bed.
Thank you!
