POMPANO BEACH, Florida Though Rep. Allen West (R-FL) ran for Congress on a platform of completely scrapping Obamacare, he praised a number of its key provisions on Tuesday, putting him at odds with many House Republicans leading the repeal effort.
In an interview with ThinkProgress, West pointed to three popular provisions of the health care law that he would like to see preserved: allowing parents to keep children on their health insurance plans until 26, ensuring that people with pre-existing conditions arent denied insurance, and closing Medicares prescription drug donut hole:

(11,856 posts)West is one of the most vunerable freshmen and others will follow down this path as I'm sure they're aware the SCOTUS could very well validate the whole law.

(52 posts)Q: How can you tell when a politician is lying?
A: You can see his lips move.
So - he's saying that he totally opposes Obamacare, except you have to replace it with something. I've been looking, but I can't seem to find any ideas even remotely tied to Mr West that have either replaced or even modified the health care act. And, he's perfectly OK with saddling an insurance company with the financial burden of being forced to cover everyone regardless of how much cash actually lives in the coverage pool.
To me, this just points to yet another politician trying to solve an problem he can't define with tools he just doesn't understand.
