It knows no boundaries as the media continues to feed it. An implosion is going to end it. He'll do it to himself. HOWEVER, what he has unleashed in the electorate will be a danger for a long time to come. There is no putting that genii back into its bottle.

...that he cannot tolerate even the smallest of slights without attacking, often quite viciously.

He would be a disaster as POTUS. Nothing would get done, because he would be compelled to spend all his time responding to/defending himself against all the negative comments presidents from either party inevitably get. Can you imagine him coping with the constant vitriol that President Obama handles with such grace and dignity every damn day? Trump would be in a constant state of egomaniacal meltdown.
