I was 19, single and a young mother...

I worked two jobs and paid the lot rent and house payment on my first little mobile home with my earnings (that's for you crazy conservatives who stalk this site consistently).

I had no health insurance, but I did have Planned Parenthood. In those days, walk-ins were welcome, so I could fit an annual visit into my work schedule. Without them, I would have had no care. The reception area was always busy with women (and some men) like me. There to take care of their health; there for a variety of reasons. All ages, all walks of life.

Flash forward 20 years. A marriage and then widowhood and then getting dropped from my insurance. I again visited Planned Parenthood. Without them, I had no care.

I will always, ALWAYS stand with Planned Parenthood. They have always been there for me. I will always be there for them.

my adult life, Planned Parenthood was my only health care option.

That organization has been essential to the healthcare of so many that I doubt whether any other health organization has done as much for the poor and lower middle class of this country.

but in college I was on a policy my parents provided. I still went to planned parenthood with my friends because it was inexpensive and there would be no claims forms being sent back to my parents. None of these issues are about "life" - we see everyday how willing Christians are to kill people. This is all about control. It always has been.

Kept going to my doctor and getting the creams which cleared it up until I got another one. I was in between jobs and didn't have medical insurance for 3 months. A friend suggested I go to PP, they examined me asked aboutmy diet and told I was eating too much sugar and that is why I had so many yeast infections. My regular doctor at kaiser never made the connection. I cut down my sugar intake and the yeast infections went away. I will defend PP forever!

Planned Parenthood does good for people. Unlike Republican Politicians. They're the ones who need defunding.

I have never been treated by anyone outside of Planned Parenthood because there were no providers who would take me as a new patient.

without a doubt

You know I remember when we fought and won these battles once already but with the 'CONs there is no, thats it. They always make us keep fighting for the same things knowing full well we'll most likely prevail. Its as if they want us to think about something other than what we should be paying attention too. I don't trust them as far as I can throw any one of them.

Planned Parenthood was the very best place to go to get good women's healthcare if you were low income. Many years later, following a divorce and my son grown and gone, I once again was very low income. Thank god they were there for me. I could not have afforded healthcare at that time. It wasn't just birth control either. They did very thorough exams and referred women to other clinics if there were concerns. They were always there for me. They are the one charity I always give to, even when my resources are stretched.

Why the h*ll won't the lame media tell your story? And so many more like it!

It's criminal about the treatment, disrespect and lies told about PP.

Thank you for sharing.
