(Toronto Star) MONTREAL—It was just last summer that Montreal was ranked by Lonely Planet readers among the top three “best summer cities” in the world.

Not this summer, many fear.

Many tourists choose the summer season to visit Montreal, but the uninterrupted student strikes are prompting some of them to think twice.

While the government and student federations sat down to talk Monday, nearly every sector that depends on tourism reported a significant drop in business. ..................(more)
