A Modest Proposal to Solve Both the 2nd Amendment and Abortion Rights Conundrums

Very simple:

Step One: We immediately repeal all the bullshit "waiting period" and "education" and blah-blah restrictions on abortions everywhere, and encourage the opening of clinics providing safe, legal abortions.

Step Two: We immediately legalize open carry of any and all firearms and repeal all registration, handling requirements, and other regulations.

Step Three (Wait for it, this is the beauty part....!): In all states EAST of the Mississippi River, we start every January 1st with a counter, and for every abortion procedure carried out, ONE firearm may be sold. In all states WEST of the Mississippi River, we start the same clock for gun sales, and for every firearm sold, ONE woman may obtain an abortion.

::smiles modestly::

I think we should be able to get that one passed by the end of January, signed into law by early February, whaddaya think?

Do I HAVE to include the " " smiley?

optimistically,
Bright

I don't want to not be able to get an abortion because enough guns have not been sold. Why do you have east and west different?

I've never understood the sexual reference towards firearms and their owners.

I own numerous firearms, it certainly doesn't turn me on, most of my friends in my part of the country are firearm owners, none of them are "ammosexuals".

And y'all wonder why gun control is such a smoking wreck in this country?

Ya think someone 'jacked my profile?

Point me to some of the yesterday ones, 'cause maybe I stepped into a time warp or something.

Which would be extremely cool, if a bit unsettling.

curiously,
Bright

I thought "OP" stood for "Original Post/er" or "Opening Post/er," which would be moi.

Not the person who posted all the posts you so kindly just linked me to.

I didn' post any Original/Opening posts yesterday.

But then, I'm easily confused, too.

philosophically,
Bright
