Donald Trump Exploiting Veterans

Donald Trump has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming CNN debate unless he is paid $5 million. He claims the money will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project. Wounded Warrior Project is a charity that assists wounded veterans. I do not believe Donald Trump gives one bit of a darn about veterans. He is exploiting them. He probably does not want to participate in the CNN debate, but does not want to admit that he wants to sit out the debate. So, he demands $5 million and claims it will go to a veterans charity.

Trump is always claiming he is a billionaire. So, if he cares so much about veterans, why not just take $5 million of his own money and give to Wounded Warrior Project and not use the group as a bargaining chip over the CNN debate?

A terribly inefficient way to help veterans.

Charity Navigator subtracts the fundraising and -- in its most recent report -- said the Wounded Warrior Project spends less than 60 percent on its services. There are better charities out there but this one seems to have the most visibility and it does do good work, just not very efficiently.
