Avoid foreign-owned convenience stores not operated by 'God-fearing Christians," - Alabama lawmaker

www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2015/11/avoid_foreign-owned_convenienc.html

"Alan Harper, an Aliceville Republican who represents Tuscaloosa and Pickens counties in the Alabama House, said in a Monday Facebook post that travelers should try to "shop and purchase gas and other items at American owned stores."

"The C stores/tobacco outlets, etc. with the lights around the windows and doors are not owned by God fearing Christians." Harper wrote, using an abbreviation for a convenience store. "In large part, these stores are owned by folk that send their profits back to their homeland and then in turn use these funds against our country to create turmoil, fear and in some cases death and destruction.

"I realize I am "painting with a broad brush" here, but the madness has to stop. Please join me in making the extra effort to never support these stores/shops! I am trying to do my part and I know you will too," he said, adding "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May God Bless.""

More blatant Repuke bigotry.

This country has turned into an open-air funny farm.

And good luck finding convenience stores not owned/clerked by immigrants, buddy. Whatta maroon.

I imagine from now on the business owner is supposed to have some sort of
certificate on their front door declaring who their own personal Sky Pilot is.

I got so sick of this bullshit when I worked at the convenience store here in my neighborhood. His name is Pasha, but he is as American as I am. But he got dumb shit like this all the time.

MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- Alabama Republicans have added to their majority in the Alabama House with the decision of a west Alabama legislator to switch parties just hours before the start of the 2012 legislative session.
Rep. Alan Harper of Aliceville said Tuesday that he is switching from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party.

Even by Republican nutcase standards, that makes no fucking sense at all to me. Was it meant to be 'without', and a call to attack anyone who hasn't put up Christmas lights? Or does he have some paranoid idea that a lit storefront is a sign of a terrorist supporter, and 'God fearing Christians' shun the suspicious ways of e-leck-triss-it-ee?
