14. Reports Are Not Proof

It does not matter that there were reports of muslims celebrating on 9/11. In the 90s there were many reports that fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger had stated, on the Oprah Winfrey Show, that he did not want black people wearing his clothing. Multiple people I knew told me they had actually seen that episode of Winfrey's show. A few years ago, Winfrey had Hilfiger on her show so that both of them could say Hilfiger had never made those comments on her show. People, both on and off the internet, have claimed that fashion designer Liz Claiborne stated on a network TV show (sometimes listed as the Oprah Winfrey Show) that she was a Satanist and gave some of her profits to the Church of Satan. This story was also not true. There have been many other instances where people have claimed to have seen someone say something controversial. Just because there is a report does not mean the story is true.

Someone could also ask how many of the reports of muslims celerbating were actually true. I saw a clip from MTV News in which a women was shown to 2001 claiming that she had seen about a dozen muslims were celebrating the 9/11 attacks. The woman claimed that young people around the ages of 12-13 were destroying public property and screaming "burn America". It seems now she claims that she only saw a bunch of kids, who were let out of school early, being stupid, but not screaming "burn America". How many people saw that woman in 2001 and then began claiming that they had saw what she claimed to see? How many people then took the story and exaggerated what the first woman claimed? How many people instead of seeing a dozen kids celebrating saw thousand of adults celebrating?

Did an FBI agent see muslims celebrating the 9/11 attacks? It is very possible that the information the FBI put out came from people claiming they had seen something they did not actually see.

With all the Islamaphobia in this country right after 911, I have no doubt there were all kinds of "reports," especially because the networks did air footage of people in the Middle East cheering. But Trump said he saw it on TV. To use the idiom of Chuck Toad: If I'm in network news and I hear Trump say that, I have every available staffer looking for footage. If I'm Trump and I'm getting this much blowback for saying that, I'm going to every network and every NYC area affiliate and offering to pay the cost of such a search.

So, Bernie Kerik or no Bernie Kerik, where is the footage? It's not about how many "witnesses" come forward and argle bargle about "reports" they heard. Just show the footage. It's not rocket science. Just show the footage.

13. This is NOT a report of thousands of people...

... celebrating the attacks. It is a report of possible co-conspirators - 8 of them - having advanced knowledge of the attacks and setting up an observation point. I'm sure they were happy about it. It looks like they were part of the mission team.

That's a far cry from TRump's claim that average, uninvolved Muslims in the US cheered the attacks. His claim is being made for a reason, and it has nothing to do with the truth.
