After a gunman murdered three at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic last week House Speaker Paul Ryan said it's time for Congress to take action on mental health issues.
"Clearly we can do more," Ryan said Tuesday, adding, "one common denominator in these tragedies is mental illness. That's why we need to look at fixing our nation's mental health system."

Is that still the case or what?

(3,447 posts)I have yet to hear someone say that a terrorist* is conclusively NOT mentally ill, after all. Unfortunately, Mr. Ryan likely only meant that for small groups of people, not everyone.
Oh, forget 'likely', we know exactly what his intent was. But the reality behind it (that they're ALL mentally ill) holds true imo.
Edit: * or mass shooter, etc. You should know what I mean.

(6,719 posts)Mental illness is a handy tag. I think it is gun culture out of control and out of touch with reality.
