(6 posts)He was in France (with Sally, btw).
And Hamilton was an ardent Federalist who supported the Constitution sans the Second Amendment (or any of the rest of the BoR).
That said, the I absolutely LOVE the Toon Roundups on DU, so thank you! thank you! thank you, n2doc!!

(24,931 posts)And Hamilton shot up in the air to avoid hitting Burr?

(6 posts)And as far as I know, the historical jury is deadlocked on whether or not Hamilton actually did try to delope (miss) with his first shot. Some witnesses thought he was trying to hit Burr right between the eyes.

Jefferson definitely had fairly significant input into the final document, as did Benjamin Franklin and others.

(2 posts)Looking at a map of mass shootings in the US, I notice that most of them have between 4-7 victims. Simply by raising the number of deaths in order to be classified as a mass shooting to, say, 12, we would have a lot less mass shootings, and I expect the NRA to start lobbying Congress for this re-definition immediately.

(3,184 posts)As complicit in the murders that are occurring?
The murderers are dead, but the Senate and the NRA are equally culpable in many of our eyes. Especially when they vote down sensible restrictions on no-fly-list members as they did yesterday.
Have the Good Wife examine gun laws, they way they have been abortion recently, and let's PROSECUTE SOMEONE, or at least name them as co-respondents in the wrongful death suits.
