For my 10,000th post, I have a suggestion. I wanted to contribute something rather than just make it a post about cats or something (please, no flaming about that decision).
The GOP has been making an effort to get the administration to use the term "Radical Islamic Extremists" (and variations thereof). The administration is reluctant to because they don't want to glue terrorism to a particular religion, etc. Islam doesn't have a monopoly on extremism (though they're the most public face right now). What about the KKK and church bombings and things done in the name of other religions or philosophies?
We've been watching the self-destruction of the Republican party. Is that not because of Republican Extremists - Trump, Cruz, and so many others? Is it unfair to call them Republican Extremists? I mean, we have advocation for killing members of another religion (by Jerry Falwell Jr. just this weekend), abortion clinic bombings and shootings, and lots of other "domestic" terrorism. Many of them follow Republican Extremist views.
So I'm going to stop solely with euphemisms like "far right" and make an effort to call Trump, Cruz, teabaggers, etc., by the same rules they advocate and call them "Republican extremists" whenever possible.
'Cause that's what they are.
Perhaps, they might find they don't all like being lumped in together

(564 posts)The Republican party is not self destructing.
They hold by far the most power in the government.
