Donald Trump just went full Adolf Hitler with his proposal to keep all Muslim immigrants and tourists from entering the United States. At least that’s the takeaway from Tuesday’s front page of the Philadelphia Daily News, which shows Trump raising his arm in what looks like a Nazi salute.

The headline pun: The New Furor.

Backlash was swift, even among Republican Party notables. For one, former Vice President Dick Cheney, who told radio host Hugh Hewitt: "This whole notion that somehow we can just say no more Muslims, just ban a whole religion, goes against everything we stand for and believe in.”


The mayor of St. Petersburg, Fla., backed the idea of a ban — with a different target:
