TIME editors award the Person of the Year title to an individual or group selected who has had the most impact on the world and the news — for better or worse — over the past year.

Trump is a nobody outside of the US.
He's an irrelevant, loud, spoiled brat.
He does not inspire.
He does not answer.
He does not lead.

If not for his extremist views that he shouts non-stop into every microphone, nobody outside the US would actually know who he is.
